New Creative Narratives: Studio Diary - October 2024
I think I'm going backwards.
But is it a bad thing?
I've stumbled into a pause.....
It's been a pretty hectic few months, culminating in Noosa Open Studios and I won't lie, I sat down on the Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the thought of having no particular deadlines to meet this side of the festive season - which someone reminded me the other day is only 12 weeks away (I've absolutely no idea how that can be possible, my brain is still in January).

Abstract Painting: Fields of Green - Work in Progress
Working on my latest big painting from my Habitat Series I was really wrestling with the greens. On the wall at the same time I had all the other pieces from this collection which had a multitude of lovely greens - from golden yellow to vibrant lime. I was keen to try and bring this big piece into the fold and I thought that getting the greens in tune with those in the other paintings would be the answer.

Where did my creative flow go?
It happens to us all! Sometimes I just want to put 'everyday life' on the back burner and spend every minute of every day in the studio pursuing my latest creative notion. I confess to the occasional daydream about being one of those artists, so immersed in their work that they live, sleep and eat in their studio to reduce distraction from the outside world.
