I'll admit, I wasn't sure where to start with this project - it's the biggest I've tackled! One bonus was that the overall surface area was broken down into three panels of different widths, so I could just look at a small section of it at a time if the need arose! The three pieces will be hung as part of 'Slivers', an exhibition at Studio One Noosa 20th May to 21st June, that references barcode art.

A painting isn't just something to look at or to hang on an empty wall. Spending time at the Affordable Art Fair in Brisbane last week, naturally got me thinking, about all sorts of things. Primarily because the joy of it all provoked a reaction in me that doesn't often happen in the studio when I'm working away on my own. Where's the 'Off' switch? There must be one somewhere.... I'm working on a big painting at the moment, which is actually three panels..

In this VLOG I'm creating some simple shape monotype prints to use in the initial collage layer of a new painting.

What makes you happy? It could be any number of things....a coffee and catch up with friends; a family celebration; an ice-cream on a sunny day or a swim in the ocean....

Easing gently into 2025? Sounds like a perfect way to start the year....... That was the plan. In fact I considered not even writing a January newsletter as I thought things would be so quiet I'd have nothing to share! How wrong can you be?
