Buying abstract art isn’t just about decorating a space — it’s about journeying inward and discovering something about yourself. Abstract art isn’t random — it’s highly expressive. It uses color, form, line, and texture to convey emotions and ideas without relying on literal representations. This freedom is what makes it so personal to the artist and ultimately creates a unique connection with the viewer.

I'd never registered 'barcode art' as a 'thing' before I was asked to join the 'Slivers' exhibition currently showing at Studio One Noosa, so naturally curiosity got the better of me and I had to dig a little deeper to find out more about the concept....

I'll admit, I wasn't sure where to start with this project - it's the biggest I've tackled! One bonus was that the overall surface area was broken down into three panels of different widths, so I could just look at a small section of it at a time if the need arose! The three pieces will be hung as part of 'Slivers', an exhibition at Studio One Noosa 20th May to 21st June, that references barcode art.

The Strangeland Series captures the essence of artistic exploration through the abstract painting process. Where's the 'Off' switch? There must be one somewhere.... I'm working on a big painting at the moment, which is actually three panels..
