'Rise of the Daylight Moon' sits in that hazy, half-remembered place where old memories live, not sharp or exact, but softened by time, the way a moon looks when it lingers into daylight, present but somehow out of place. Orange banksia leaves hang overhead, drawn from studies I've made of the Sunshine Coast landscape, while pale raindrops fall quietly through them, marking that familiar, quiet passage between one place and another. Below, a banded landscape unfolds in stripes of pink, orange and magenta, small teal trees and a solitary house settled somewhere within it, not quite anchored to any one memory, but holding the feeling of many. This piece doesn't ask to be understood so much as felt, the way a half-remembered dream does, vivid in sensation even when the details have long since faded.
