Abstract Art Painting: Watch 'Inhabit' Progress Movie

This piece was a challenge as I wanted to explore making art on a smaller scale.

My usual preference at the time of creating this art piece was for canvas size is twice the size of this piece. I find larger work more physically engaging which creates a momentum and energy of its own.

'Inhabit' has a stillness about it which I think was dictated by the need to remain physically still in order to focus and apply paint in a controlled way.

| The Inspiration

Inhabit reflects the act of fully occupying a moment — being present within both place and self. Layers of texture and shifting tones suggest the traces of time, memory, and emotion that shape our sense of belonging. The painting invites a quiet contemplation of what it means to settle into one’s own rhythm, to inhabit not just a space, but an inner landscape of awareness and acceptance.
