Gympie Regional Gallery hosts the annual Du Reitz Art Award at the historic School of Arts Building in Gympie. This year I am thrilled to have been selected as a finalist! This is a fantastic exhibition packed full of diverse 2D and 3D work, with everything from ceramics, assemblage, photography, drawing and painting by both local and national artists. I can't recommend a visit highly enough for a snapshot of the exciting work that's being made across the region and further afield. The overall winning piece by Ian Gunn is simply stunning and Emma Thorpe's "Still Water" won the 2D prize.
My mixed media painting 'Submerged' was selected to be part of this exhibition which was pre-selected by Noosa Regional Gallery Director Michael Brennan and Trudie Leigo, Regional Arts Manager, CQ University and Independent Curator, with final judging by Kevin Wilson, arts writer and co-ordinator of the Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre.
The gallery put on a fabulous opening event and have documented the show beautifully - follow the links below the check out the exhibition online, or if your passing by - do call in and see the work in person, you won't be disappointed!
