This painting carries deep resonance for me as I see shadows symbolising the complexity, duality, and depth of the inner self. These unlit and unseen places of mystery speak in subtleties rather than absolutes, mirroring the quiet, often hidden parts of what it means to be human. Shadows remind us that light and darkness are inseparable, and that our fears are as much a part of us, as our joy and happiness. The bold and vibrant colour palette is a reminder to embrace this chiaroscuro.
