As this painting evolved, I found myself thinking about my place within the bigger more universal rhythms of life. My awareness turned to thoughts about being fully present with the work and allowing the shapes in the composition to describe a sense of journeying through a landscape of different perspectives and personal stories in search of a new way of thinking. The hues have a vibrancy that speak to the energy of life, and juxtaposed with the darker spaces, they evoke colourful life experiences existing deep within the universe.
