40 artists were selected by the committee through an expression of interest process to design and create an original work of art on a custom deck chair canvas, for display as part of the collaborative installation.

My artwork – Over the Hill is an original acrylic painting with plenty of layers of varnish to protect it from the weather during the outdoor sculpture exhibition along the Currumbin foreshore.

The deckchairs will then return to Noosa for the opening of this year’s art trail and will be on display along the river at Gympie Terrace and will then move to the Noosa Botanic gardens at Lake Macdonald. The deckchairs will be auctioned off as a fundraiser to support the Noosa Open Studios art trail, benefiting all participating artists of which there are over 100 this year!

This was such a fun and highly original, community focused project to be involved with, I can’t wait to see them all displayed together. If you can make it to the Swell Sculpture Festival I'd highly recommend it!
