Workshop Description

Would you love to create meaningful abstract art, but are not sure where to start? These fun and relaxed small group weekly classes will help you on your way. Abstract Explorers is all about enjoying the freedom to play and experiment with your process and ideas, nothing is off limits, and there’s no right or wrong! Taking artistic risks in a friendly, supportive setting will help you make new discoveries in your art making process and work out what you love and what you want to leave behind. This group will help you to tap into, and develop your personal creative vision. Suitable for beginners or hobby creatives wanting to find their style or simply spend some focused time making art on a weekly basis with other like minds. We’ll experiment with materials, processes and techniques to either begin your journey with abstract image making, or help you find ways to realise your ideas through print, paint and mixed media and collage. RECOMMENDED FOR: Beginners and hobby creatives wanting to develop their style and further explore their connections to creativity. Suggested age guide - 18yrs+ SUITABLE FOR ANYONE WANTING TO: - experiment with different ways to begin an abstract painting; - explore image making possibilities through a variety of 2D processes and techniques; - find ways to make dynamic work with processes that excite you; - gain a basic understanding of effective composition, the use of focal points and visual balance; - learn about different materials and mediums and how to combine them in mixed media work. WHEN: Thursdays - 9.00 am to 11.00 am Term 4 - 2021 (9 weeks) Session Dates: October 14th, 21st, 28th, November 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, December 2nd, 9th. ADDITIONAL INFO: To ensure plenty of individual support, sessions are limited to 3 participants. Booking: Please don't hesitate to give me a call if you have any difficulty making a booking online or if you would prefer to book and pay offline. If you'd like to join part way through the term please check with me to see if there are spaces available and for an adjusted invoice. You can make a time to drop into the studio to discuss any individual requirements and check out the studio space, prior to booking - just give me a call or contact me via email to make an appointment.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation: As the number of workshop participants is limited to enable a great experience for everyone, your spot is secured immediately at the time of booking. Should you need to cancel your booking, please ensure you contact me no less than 48 hours prior, so I can endeavour to fill your place. Unfortunately, if cancellation notice is given less than 48 hrs prior, your workshop fee cannot be refunded, except in extenuating circumstances. Rescheduling: If circumstances arise that mean you cannot make the workshop on that day and you wish to reschedule, please contact me no less than 48 hrs prior and I will endeavour to find another available time and date to suit (subject to availability). If a rescheduled workshop is missed or cancelled, no refund will be offered. Refunds: A full refund will only be offered if you: - cancel more than 48 hours in advance of the start date and time; - cancel less than 48 hours in advance where extenuating circumstances apply. A full refund will not be offered if you: - miss the workshop without notification; - cancel less than 48 hrs in advance (except in extenuating circumstances) - miss a rescheduled workshop time and date.
